KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Natalie Packer is an Independent Education Consultant, specialising in SEND and school improvement.  She develops and delivers a wide range of training and support, including SEND reviews, to schools and multi-academy trusts. She works closely with several trusts to support their strategic development of SEND and is a trustee of Learn-AT in Leicestershire. She is an associate for national organisations Nasen, Whole Education, Forum Strategy and Leadership Matters. Natalie is the author of The Perfect SENCO and The Teacher’s Guide to SEN and co-author of the forthcoming publication Beyond Boundaries: Leading Great SEND Provision across a Trust.

Matt Bromley is an education journalist, author, and advisor with twenty-five years’ experience in teaching and leadership including as a secondary school headteacher and academy principal, further education college vice principal, and multi-academy trust director. Matt is a public speaker, trainer, initial teacher training lecturer, and school improvement advisor. He remains a practising teacher, currently working in secondary, FE and HE settings. Matt writes for various magazines, is the author of numerous best-selling books on education, and co-hosts an award-winning podcast.

Sarah Templeton is an ADHD author, accredited counsellor, and coach, passionately advocating for ADHD awareness in schools and prisons. She has authored several influential books, including ‘How NOT To Murder Your ADHD Kid – Instead Learn to Be Your Child’s Own ADHD Coach’ and ‘Teachers! How Not to Kill the Spirit in Your ADHD Kids!’. Since 2016, Sarah has served as the Managing Director and Lead Therapist at Headstuff ADHD Therapy Ltd, the U.K.’s largest ADHD specialist therapy company. As CEO of ADHD Liberty, she leads initiatives to screen for ADHD in police stations and works to keep ADHD adolescents and young adults out of the criminal justice system. Additionally, Sarah manages Gemini Publishing Ltd and Daisychain Recruitment Ltd, supporting neurodiverse individuals in the workplace.

Lorraine Petersen spent the first 25 years of her career as a teacher and headteacher in a number of primary schools. In 2004 Lorraine was appointed as the CEO of The National Association for Special Educational Needs where she worked for nine years, during which time, she was awarded an OBE. At the end of 2013 Lorraine established her own consultancy business and has been delivering training, advice and support to schools and local authorities. She is a SEND Improvement Adviser for Blackpool Council. Lorraine is currently delivering Senior Mental Health Lead Training for one of the DfE Quality Assured training providers. Lorraine is Chair of Governors at Chadsgrove Special School.

Mike Bailey has spent the last 16 years working in education sector, including in mainstream schools, specialist SEN settings and training providers. He has extensive expertise in working with young people with ASC, SEMH needs and other diagnoses. Having filled a number of leadership roles, Mike is passionate about providing a voice for young people who have been marginalised by our education system, working towards full equity for those who have had to overcome significant barriers to their learning. He is now excited to share strategies and advice to help you engage with young people with SEND through transformative learning.

Rhian Warner is the Primary SEND Specialist at E-ACT MAT where she supports SEND provision. This role sees Rhian work across the Trusts 17 primary schools, supporting SENDco and delivering Trust wide CPD.  Rhian is an experienced senior leader having ben Deputy Headteacher and SENDco in two E-ACT Academies before joining the Trust central team.

Rhian is passionate about inclusion, curriculum design and reading.
