Assessment in Practical PE: Making It Meaningful, Manageable & Moderation Ready

Course Code: T0434 £249.00

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This new course focuses on improving assessment in practical PE, moving beyond NEA requirements to develop effective, manageable, and meaningful day-to-day assessment strategies that genuinely support student progress. It explores how assessment can be used not just to measure performance, but to actively drive improvement in both skill development and understanding.   Delegates will examine how to design assessment systems that are accurate, consistent, and sustainable within the realities of PE teaching. The course addresses common challenges such as subjectivity, workload, and capturing progress in dynamic practical environments. It also explores how to align assessment with curriculum intent, ensuring that what is assessed reflects what truly matters in PE. By the end of the course, teachers will be equipped with practical strategies to improve the quality of assessment, strengthen moderation processes, and increase student engagement with their own progress.
